AGNES RF (Radiofrequency) Acne

Our Permanent Acne Solution using RADIOFREQUENCY (RF) ABLATION FOR RECURRING ACNE & PIMPLE BREAKOUTS

Our Approach

AGNES Radiofrequency Acne

At Aesthetic Studio Clinic, we prioritise achieving optimal outcomes while minimising potential risks. That’s why we’ve adopted a targeted, permanent solution for acne breakouts and recurring pimples, aiming to eliminate the reliance on oral acne medications that cause gastrointestinal or mucosal side effects commonly associated with antibiotics or oral retinoids used in conventional acne treatments.

Developed by Korean dermatologists, the AGNES Acne Treatment offers a permanent resolution to acne breakouts sans the adverse effects associated with typical anti-acne drug regimens.

Inflammation of the Sebaceous Gland Causes Acne & Pimples
Common Zones of Recurrent Acne Flare-ups include the Jawline, Forehead, and Cheek Areas

Acne, an inflammatory condition affecting the sebaceous glands within skin follicles, manifests as comedones (whiteheads) and pimples, sometimes progressing to cysts, nodules, and scarring. By effectively targeting and neutralizing the sebaceous glands, AGNES offers a sustainable solution to prevent acne’s recurrence.

Our Approach

Our Permanent Solution to Acne Breakouts

The AGNES Radiofrequency technology offers a treatment method known as Selective Sebaceous Gland Destruction, precisely designed to target and eliminate troublesome sebaceous glands without causing thermal damage to the skin’s surface. This technology provides a long-lasting solution for persistent acne concerns.

Utilizing advanced techniques involving small partially insulated needles and a unique square waveform monopolar and radio-frequency energy, this innovative approach selectively eradicates problematic sebaceous glands while safeguarding the skin’s outer layer (the epidermis) from potential heat-related injuries.

Types of Acne Breakouts

Different Types of Acne Breakouts

Acne manifests in various forms, ranging from mild conditions like blackheads and whiteheads to moderate forms such as pustules and papules. Severe cases can also appear as nodules and cysts, heightening the risk of acne scarring.

Agnes Acne Radiofrequency is suitable for all skin types, making it a popular treatment in Singapore for those struggling with persistent and active acne problems. It effectively addresses acne conditions such as pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, papules, cystic acne, and nodular acne by eradicating the sebaceous glands that harbour acne-causing bacteria, preventing future outbreaks in treated areas for a permanent solution.

Diverse presentations of acne in its different forms. Each type of acne is characterized by different appearances, and those grappling with acne may often notice a combination of these types simultaneously.

Benefits

Benefits of AGNES Acne RF Treatments

AGNES Acne Radiofrequency proves effective by targeting the root cause of acne. By addressing the inflammation originating from the sebaceous glands within our hair follicles, it effectively reduces persistent acne conditions. Upon the destruction of these glands, acne diminishes significantly with very minimal chances of recurrence.

Key benefits include:

  • Low recurrence rates

  • Minimal downtime (ideal for quick lunch-time procedures)

  • Absence of systemic side effects, eliminating the need for oral medications known for severe dryness or digestive issues

  • Enhanced safety measures, preserving the integrity of the skin’s surface epidermis

  • Comprehensive efficacy beyond acne treatment — addressing various pore-related concerns like syringoma, blackheads, enlarged pores, and acne scars

Less than 10% of cases experienced acne recurrence within a year post the final treatment session, cementing this procedure as a genuinely effective, long-term solution for acne management.

As stipulated by the Ministry of Health in Singapore, we are unable to publish ‘before’ and ‘after’ images of aesthetic treatments. If you are interested in viewing the before-and-after outcomes, please get in touch with us here.

What to Expect

What to Expect from AGNES Acne RF Treatments

Before the treatment, we apply a topical anaesthetic cream to ensure minimal discomfort during the procedure.

We begin by cleansing and scaling the skin, followed by the extraction of excess sebum from the hair follicles.

A minute micro-needle is then inserted into the skin follicle and sebaceous glands to deliver a Monopolar Radiofrequency current, effectively eliminating problematic glands.

The following day, a bipolar radiofrequency current is utilised with a surface probe to loosen any remaining dirt, debris and impurities, facilitating their removal for a thorough deep, skin cleanse.

When seeking acne treatments, it’s imperative to consult with an experienced doctor, as not all acne conditions are the same. Acne can manifest in various forms, from mild to severe, and it’s underlying causes can differ significantly among individuals. An experienced doctor can provide personalised evaluation and care tailored to your unique skin type, acne severity, and medical history.

This individualized approach ensures that the treatment plan addresses your specific needs effectively, leading to optimal results and minimizing the risk of adverse outcomes. What acne conditions does Agnes Radiofrequency treat?

Agnes Radiofrequency is effective in treating various acne conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Mild Acne: Blackheads and whiteheads that are typically the initial stages of acne development

  • Moderate Acne: Pustules and papules, which are inflamed lesions

  • Severe Acne: Nodules and cysts, which are deeper and more stubborn lesions

This treatment is versatile and suitable for individuals with different skin types and tones. If you have specific concerns about your acne condition and its suitability for Agnes Radiofrequency treatment, we recommend consulting with a qualified doctor for personalised advice.

Each session typically takes 30 to 60 minutes, tailored to address the specifics of your acne condition.

On average, 2 to 3 sessions are recommended for Agnes Radiofrequency treatments, although the number of sessions may vary depending on the severity of the individual’s acne condition. Some individuals may require fewer sessions to achieve desired results, while others may need additional sessions for optimal improvement.

For an accurate expectation of how many sessions you may need for the best possible outcomes, speak to our aesthetic doctors for a non-obligatory skin assessment.

The Agnes Radiofrequency treatment is an effective solution for acne removal, that goes beyond temporary fixes. While it’s impossible to guarantee a blanket “permanent” solution for every case, it has a track record of delivering enduring results for our patients. By precisely targeting the root causes of acne, it sets the stage for long-lasting skin clarity. Treated follicles are less prone to developing pimples, and the frequency of new lesions diminishes over subsequent treatments.

Factors like your skincare routine, lifestyle, and hormonal changes may also influence acne recurrence over time. Consulting with a skincare professional can provide valuable insights into what you can expect from this treatment and how it can contribute to your ongoing acne management strategy.

Following an Agnes Radiofrequency session, you may experience mild redness or swelling as the skin undergoes healing, typically subsiding within a few days.

You can typically resume your daily activities immediately after the session. However, it’s recommended to refrain from strenuous exercise and exposure to excessive heat or direct sunlight for the first 24 to 48 hours post-treatment to enhance healing and minimise the risk of adverse reactions.

It’s worth noting that individual reactions may vary. Our doctors will provide you with post-treatment care guidelines to effectively manage any temporary side effects.

Restylane® Kysse Lip Fillers
What is Restylane® Kysse

Dubbed as the gold standard of lip fillers, Restylane® Kysse is a hyaluronic acid (HA) filler that’s designed specifically for our lips. Using XpresHAn™ Technology, it provides flexible movement and natural-looking volume while enhancing the texture and colour of the lips.

Benefits of Restylane Kesse
  • Luscious, plumped lips

  • Soft, natural-looking results

  • Smooths lip lines and wrinkles

  • Enhances the colour of your lips

  • Allows for flexible lip movements

  • More defined, volumized, and youthful lips

  • Longer-lasting results as compared to other lip fillers

Step 3

The procedure then continues until the treated area shows the desired results. Thereafter, the injected area will be massaged to ensure that the filler gel is distributed evenly across the lips for natural results.

Restylane Kysse Frequently Asked Questions
Am I an ideal candidate for Restylane® Kysse Lip Fillers?

Patients should not use Kysse lip filler if they:

  • Have a history of severe allergic reactions.

  • Have had a previous allergic reaction to hyaluronic acid fillers.

  • Are allergic to anesthetics, like lidocaine.

While both of these are hyaluronic acid lip fillers, they have slightly different formulas. Restylane® Kysse adds volume and enhances your existing lip shape and symmetry to create smooth, natural-looking lips. It can also treat smoker’s lines, or commonly known as wrinkles around the mouth.

Juvederm, on the other hand, is a great option for patients who are looking for a more voluminous look. When deciding on which lip filler, it depends on the look you want to achieve.

Due to the different formulations, Restylane® Kysse has a unique structure that lasts longer than other fillers. Most dermal lip fillers last around 9 months, however you can expect results lasting up to 12 months with Restylane® Kysse.

The discomfort experienced during the treatment varies from person to person and depends on factors such as:

  • Sensitivity of the patient

  • Pain tolerance of the patient

  • Anxiety level of the patient

Restylane® Kysse comes with anesthetic inside the gel already, hence discomfort is at its minimum.

All lip fillers have some mild side effects. You may experience some slight swelling and bruising on the injected area, but these should go away within 7 days.

  • As with other lip fillers treatment, a cold compress may be applied to the injected area to reduce swelling.

  • Avoid touching the injected area for at least 6 hours so that you do not accidentally injure your skin while the area is numb. Thereafter, the treatment area can be gently washed with soap and water.

  • Minimise strenuous exercise and exposure to excess heat, sun, or UV rays for the first 24 hours. Exposure to these may cause temporary redness, swelling, or itching at the treated area.

Full aftercare instructions will also be provided after the treatment.

Acne

A commonly overlooked yet physically and psychologically scarring problem, acne is a long-drawn problem that commences at puberty and can drag on well into one’s 20s to 30s. Adult-onset acne is also common, commencing in one’s 20s to 30s and dragging on well beyond that. Caused mainly by accumulation of dead skin, bacterial infection and uncontrolled inflammation, acne is a rather well understood medical condition. Hormonal influences, genetic factors, and even proposed dietary influences are known to be the underlying drivers of acne in some too. Early intervention is the best solution – less acne translates to less scarring, saving you precious time and finances required in attempting to resurface those pesky scars later on.

Acne Treatments

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels consist of mild acids that, when applied to skin, promote controlled exfoliation of skin as well as inactivation of the sebaceous units responsible for breakouts.

Used as a complimentary form of treatment to existing topical therapy, chemical peels can quickly and effectively control most forms of acne.

3-5 sessions are typically required at 2 weekly intervals to bring acne under control, with subsequent sessions done every 4-6 weeks for maintenance.

Carbon Peel

Using a specialised laser and a black carbon-based ink on the face, sebaceous glands can be targeted, bacteria killed, and mild exfoliation performed.

Sessions done at 2-4 weekly intervals can help keep acne bay while also helping to lighten any post-inflammatory pigmentation left by the acne and even reduce pore size.

AGNES

For the larger, stubborn and recurrent acne, the use of a highly selective probe to deliver high radio-frequency energy into the sebaceous unit effectively and permanently inactivates the gland.

This more permanent solution to acne allows for effective management of recurrent acne without having to resort to oral medication such as oral isotretinoin.

Tattoo Removal
Tattoos, while easily placed, are much more complicated to erase. Newer methods of treatment are more reliable, and total time required for tattoo removal can be shortened to less than a year.

Tattoos, while easily placed, are much more complicated to erase. Existing therapies involve the use of nano-second Q-switched lasers, but treatments prove difficult with many requiring 2-3 years of repeated visits at 2-3 monthly intervals. Newer methods of treatment involve the use of newly developed pico-second lasers. These lasers, firing many times faster than conventional Q switched lasers, fracture pigments more effectively. In effect, treatments are more reliable, and total time required for tattoo removal can be shortened to less than a year.

Here at The Aesthetic Studio, we employ the use of the Lutronic Picoplus Pico-second laser for optimal tattoo removal; with 4 wavelengths of light at your disposal, removal of tattoos of varying colour and complexity just got easier.

With a high energy output, a wide range of precisely controllable fluence output and four wavelengths of light for increased versatility, the Picoplus Pico-second laser is optimised for tattoo removal and pigment management.

Depending on tattoo complexity, 5-10 sessions may be required at monthly intervals for optimal clearance.

Combination with ablative lasers may be advised to reduce post-laser blistering commonly associated with tattoo removal.
